Coronation Memories with Norman Polden

Unlike many people, I (Norman) actually remember the last Coronation, in 1953.  Somehow the local Mums on the council estate in Bournemouth got together and created a street party. It was on a path alongside our prefab in a cul-de-sac. The weather must have been good.  Despite some rationing still being in place, jellies, sandwiches, cake and squash were provided. The photograph shows around 30 mums so with the kids around 100 people must have been fed.   I wonder where the men were.  I can recognise my mum and myself (9 years old), and possibly my 2 year old brother. The photo was taken by a professional photographer who climbed a gas lamppost to take the photo.
